Common questions

Clear answers, no marketing fluff.

Eight questions that come up before signing up, with answers that hold even when they are inconvenient.

With us rather than with an import wizard: send us a database dump or export, we set up your projects in Lalabase, and you review them on your own material before you decide. What the move covers in your case and how long it takes is settled beforehand in a short phone call.

One price for the whole team, tiered by how many people use it, not counted per seat. Every tier includes all features.

It starts at €29 per month, cheaper with yearly billing. The full ladder by team size is on the pricing page.

All prices are exclusive of statutory VAT. Our offering is directed exclusively at business customers within the meaning of Section 14 of the German Civil Code (BGB); we do not offer our services to consumers.

Yes, for seven days. If you want to work with your own material while you do, send us a dump from your current tool and we will set your projects up. After that the first month is billed by the day rather than as a full month, you can cancel up to the last day of the term with no notice period, and payment is by invoice.

Your application data (tickets, documents, time entries, attachments) sits exclusively on servers in Germany: GDPR-compliant processing, DPA included. As long as you don't switch the AI features on, no data leaves the EU. What applies once you do is in the next answer. You pick the jurisdiction there yourself.

You decide, in three stages:

  • AI is off by default. Without activation, nothing goes to an AI provider.
  • An AI package from our catalogue. Every package states openly who processes and where (European provider on EU servers, EU region of a non-European corporation, or outside the EU) and whether the provider uses your content for training. That classification appears verbatim in your DPA.
  • Or your own key. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, up to a self-hosted model. Processing then runs under your contract, not ours.

Email and phone, for all cloud customers and with no support tiers. In this early phase you reach the founder directly rather than a queue: by phone on weekdays from 9 to 17 CET, and we usually answer emails the same working day.

Your data is yours. After the contract ends the terms give you 30 days to export your data; on request we prepare that export for you. You can also download your personal data as a data disclosure yourself at any time. After that the data is deleted; the deadlines are laid out in the DPA.

Open source is our direction, not yet our state. We intend to open the source code and enable self-hosting generally once the hosted product is ready for it. We deliberately don't name a date. Today Lalabase runs as a cloud hosted in Germany, with full data export, so you stay in control of your data at all times. So there is no off-the-shelf self-hosting package yet. If your organisation has particular data protection or compliance requirements, talk to us anyway. For cases like that we usually find a way.

Then just ask.

Whatever is not here, the founder answers himself, by phone or by mail. There is no queue and no form that turns it into a sales appointment first.
