Name display

On comments, lists and assignments Lalabase always shows a person's avatar chip: their profile picture, or their initials when none is uploaded. Under Settings > Name display you additionally choose how names next to it are spelled for you. The spelling only affects your own view; every user picks their own.

The three spellings

  • Full name (default): "Erika Musterfrau"
  • First name and abbreviated last name: "Erika M."
  • Abbreviated first name and last name: "E. Musterfrau"

A preview next to each option shows your own name in that spelling. Abbreviated spellings always show the full name in a hover tooltip.

Assignments: the name for one person, chips for several

In the ticket list and the ticket head the name shows only while one person is assigned. With several, Lalabase shows the avatar chips alone; the name appears when you hover a chip. If you are assigned yourself, your chip always comes first, the others follow alphabetically.

On the ticket detail view, "Customize detail view > Assignment" additionally controls density: "With name" (as described above), "Avatar only" (chips even for one person), "Icon only" or "Hidden".

If a user has no first or last name on file, Lalabase shows the part of their email address before the @ sign.

Profile picture

Right next to the name display (Settings > Name display) you can upload a profile picture (PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 2 MB) without entering your password. After picking a file a preview appears: drag the picture to move it and zoom with the slider, the visible framing is what gets saved. The picture then appears in your avatar chip everywhere; without a picture the chip shows your initials. The "Remove profile picture" checkbox removes it again. To change the framing later, simply upload the picture again. The picture stays on your Lalabase server and is never sent to external services.
