# Knowledge: creating & organizing notes

The **Knowledge** area brings every note and file in a project together in one searchable place. Here is how to create a note and find it again later.

## Create a note

1. Open the **Knowledge** area in the sidebar.
2. Click **Write note**.
3. Give it a title and write the content in the editor. Images (PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP, up to 10 MB) go straight into the text by pasting or dragging them in. Other files belong in the files area; the editor says so.
4. Save — the note appears in the Knowledge list right away.

## The Knowledge view

A click on an entry opens it **beside the list**: the list narrows, the entry slides in
from the right. The browser address names the open entry together with the search and
the filters, so a reload shows the same again. A second click on the open entry, the
**✕** at the top right or **Escape** close it.

At the top of the entry stands whether it is a **note** or a **file**, next to it the
**pencil** for editing. The line between list and entry can be **dragged** with the mouse
and stepped with the arrow keys; a double click restores its starting position, and the
browser remembers where you left it.

You can find meetings in the **Meetings** area.

In a narrow window the entry takes the full width, and **‹ All entries** at the top left
is the way back. On the phone Lalabase shows either the list or the entry, with
**List view** above it; **+** opens the form there as a page of its own.

## Organize and find

Add **tags** to group related entries. Above the list sit the tabs **All entries** and one per type you may read (**Notes**, **Files**): each type is a built-in view, and on it the condition **Type** stands visibly under the tabs, so it is clear why you see only notes. The type is a condition like any other: through **+ Filter** you pick it yourself too, for example notes and files together. Only a saved view made for one type does not offer that choice; its type is fixed. If you may read a single type only, the tabs and the condition are left out, the list is that type anyway. Narrow further by tag, creator, or date. The **search depth** controls whether the search covers the title only or title and content.

## Saved views

Save a filter you use often via **Save as a view** in the row under the conditions, with its own name. It then sits as a **tab** above the list, next to **All entries**. Views with participants or a meeting date are saved in the project's [meeting list](https://lalabase.com/docs/en/guides/meetings/basics) and appear only there.
