# Create your first project

Projects are the bracket around your work in Lalabase: they bundle tickets, documents, and
time in one place. Here's how to create your first one.

## Create a project

1. Click **New project** in the sidebar. For your very first project the sidebar shows a
   dedicated button; later the entry sits as the closing row below your project list —
   that's where you'll find it again when you need a second project.
2. Give it a meaningful name and — optionally — a short description.
3. Save. You land directly in the project overview.

## Manage the team

A project thrives on its team. You control who has access to a project from the **Team** tab
in the project navigation. That's where you add members and give each person the right access
through their role. Only someone with a sufficiently privileged role in the project can manage
this — organisation and account administrators always can.

<div class="docs-callout docs-callout--info">
  <div class="docs-callout__title">Access is per project</div>
  <p>Users only see projects they are a member of. This keeps client-facing and internal projects cleanly separated.</p>
</div>

## Archive a project and bring it back

Finished projects do not need to be deleted. Archive them instead: project settings,
**Danger zone** section, **Archive** button. The project then disappears from the
sidebar and from the overview, while all of its content stays intact.

You can bring it back at any time. Archived projects collect under **Management >
Archive**. Every project there carries a **Restore** button, and clicking the
project name leads into its settings, where a project can also be deleted for good.

<div class="docs-callout docs-callout--info">
  <div class="docs-callout__title">Restoring belongs to account management</div>
  <p>Anyone who may change project properties can archive. Restoring and deleting are reserved for account administrators.</p>
</div>

## What's next

Once the project is set up, create your first work item — see
[Working with tickets](https://lalabase.com/docs/en/guides/basics/tickets).
